TERMS & CONDITIONS

To improve our Festival this year, we are removing all furniture from the field, providing audience members the freedom to find a patch, lay down a blanket and enjoy a party in the park feel to our festival shows. Positions in this area are not allocated and are offered on a first come first served basis. Blankets are not included. If you need to bring a chair for mobility purposes, please use the sundry options at point of booking tickets to indicate this. If you have any questions about this, please email info@macreadytheatre.co.uk There will be an allocated area for audience members bringing chairs, to avoid sight-lines being blocked.

Food and Beverage concessions will be dotted around The Close for you to enjoy during your visit. Please no food or drink is to be bought into the venue.

Other events take place in outdoor venues or in existing Rugby School venues. Whilst we have made every effort to ensure that the seating plans in these venues are an accurate representation of the seating in the venue, there may be some slight variation in the actual position of seats in order to ensure the best possible experience for audiences. Please see our terms and conditions below and visit our website for more information: www.thefestivalontheclose.co.uk

TICKETING TERMS & CONDITIONS

DATA USAGE

The data that you enter will only be used to register for this event and for marketing other events hosted by Rugby School and Macready Theatre. If you wish to receive communications on our future events then please opt in by checking the appropriate box during registration.

VENUE ENTRY & ACCESS

You must present a printed (or electronic) ticket upon request at the venue in order to be granted access. Areas around venues may be grassed and in wet weather may be slippery. You can find information on accessibility below.

WET WEATHER POLICY

Our open-air venues are subject to the vagaries of the British weather. The health and safety of our performers and audiences is our primary concern and therefore in poor weather we may be required to stop and re-start performances in this venue or even end it early. For our cancellation policy please see below. It's best to come prepared for all types of weather: bringing your own shade in the afternoon is particularly important as is a jumper for the end of evening performances. Sun hats, sun cream, sunglasses, raincoats and rain hats should all be considered. Although most performances are completed each year, as the auditorium is completely uncovered, we may have to stop and re-start the show.

On rare occasions, it will not be possible for us to complete the performance, but we will never cancel a performance before the advertised start time. This is because you would be amazed how often it can rain all day and then clear up just in time for the performance to start and indeed, how localised bad weather can be. Also, we really don't want to disappoint anyone - audiences or our artists (who are always keen to perform, if possible).

Tickets are non-refundable in the event of cancellation because of the weather but may be exchanged for ticket(s) to events in Macready Theatre's public programme up to the equivalent cost, or to next year's Festival on The Close. We are fortunate that Festival on The Close is part of the Macready Theatre's public programme of professional comedy, theatre, film, dance and music, meaning in the unlikely event that one of our festival events is cancelled, we can offer you a range of amazing alternatives in exchange to choose from to make up for your disappointment. When you're ready to exchange you should:

a. Find the event(s) you would like to exchange your tickets for on Macready Theatre website.

b. Contact the Theatre by emailing info@macreadytheatre.co.uk with your request or write to: The Theatre Manager, Macready Theatre, Lawrence Sheriff Street, Rugby, CV22 5EH. In both cases, please state your original booking order number, name, address and make sure to include the preferred event(s) you wish to exchange into.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING POLICY

Unauthorised photography, video, audio recording, and transmission of any festival event, performers, or performance is strictly prohibited. By purchasing a ticket you will be deemed to have consented to be photographed, filmed, and recorded, Unless you tell us otherwise, your image may be used by the promoters in any materials relating to the event and any future promotions. You will not be entitled to any payment for this.

INFORMATION UPDATES

As event organisers, we will make every effort to provide the latest information on all acts and timings as well as practical arrangements on Festival on the Close website and social media platforms. As event-goers, you should ensure that you check these sites and your booking emails to be informed of the latest information before attending the event.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

As event organisers we reserve the right to alter and/or amend the advertised guest/support artists/performers, event schedules, performance timings (advertised or otherwise) and advertised programme content, without prior notice and without liability. In the event that a headline act cancels with at least 24 hours’ prior notice, every effort will be made to provide an alternative act of a similar status and genre and you will be notified of any such change. If you are unhappy with the replacement act(s), you can apply to the festival organisers for a refund of your ticket price minus any booking fee which you may have paid, though this must be done in advance by emailing info@macreadytheatre.co.uk If a headline act cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice prior to a performance, a full refund will be made less any booking fee which may have been paid. For wet weather cancellation policy, see above.

BEHAVIOUR

Festival staff and volunteers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Festival patrons are expected to behave in an appropriate manner so as not to interfere with the enjoyment of fellow festival goers and should at all times comply with any instructions given by festival staff. The festival organisers have the right to refuse access or remove any patron who does not comply with the above.
